The USA reached an agreement with Mexico and Canada known as NAFTA.  Under this agreement, certain professionals have the ability to work in the USA for a sponsoring employer. NAFTA provides for a lengthy list of professions that qualify for a TN or TD visas. Professions cover a wide variety of fields from the sciences to business and others.  Investors are included under NAFTA as well.
